Yes it was! Films with flashback scenes always get mixed reviews but the fans love it. Flashbacks are seen as a cop out in the industry because it is so easy to use them and captivate an audience. The movie script I wrote about capturing Bigfoot/sasquatch, had a bunch of “true story” first-hand accounts as flashback scenes. The one Hollywood agent I found would critique it for me fucking hated it. LOL.

He totally looks like the guy in The Town that Dreaded Sundown. Did you see it??? Takes place in Texarcana in the 50s.
