I was recently curious about him because there is so little information about him. I read about him moving to Colorado and getting in trouble but I was curious to hear more about him. I bet after the murders his bitterness about being shorted probably melted somewhat. But also it does not sound like his lifestyle changed very much. I’m going on sheer speculation. I find the story interesting.

Yes, true crime is VERY interesting to me too. I am working on another post about the police records and rap sheets of Deverell and Launius. They certainly were a couple of characters!

tried to comment below – but there was not a ‘reply’ option on the entry regarding Barbara Richardson. I absolutely love that you researched the book she was reading. Anyway – I was going to comment that I remember reading somewhere that Lind was with a hooker on this particular eve. It might have even been on one of your earlier entries. I can’t remember. Can you imagine.

Thanks for the feedback, yes the post i made was a Quick Post, they call it, and not available for replies I guess. But yes, Lind was with a prostitute that night, with or without Barbara Richardson’s consent. The wikipedia page makes it sound like they were not exclusive, but just because Lind was out with another woman does not mean Barbara was hip to it. “honey, i’ll be on the other side of town selling these drugs… I will jist stay on Joe’s couch”. Obviusly I know too much about lying to your significant other, LOL. No, I really don’t!! Ha haa

I can’t wait! I want to hear all of it. Clearly these guys were no choir boys.

And hey – I pass no judgement on anyone for what they have to do make it to the end of a lifetime. I’m a free spirit.

oh and ps – I got really into Terry Reid from the film Wonderland. Faith to Arise is the song playing when Lind and Babs showed up to the party in LA. I liked the song instantly and had to find out who sung it. I have seen the movie way too many times.

I would have never figured that song out if you had not told me. I will have to download it!

Yes, their getaway car was a stolen mid 70s Ford Granada. They are lucky it started! I know because I drove a white ’76 Ford Granada during high school. I bought it from my uncle for $600. it was loaded with leather and cassette and very clean. However, it left me stranded in Alabama as I drove to visit family and a friend in college.

Tracy McCourt: When we got back to the house, I just started getting very nervous. I looked out the balcony and saw a car that looked like the Lincoln Continental that had been parked at Eddie Nash’s house. I told everybody about it, but they were so high and screwed up on drugs that they paid no attention. That’s when I got really nervous and decided to leave on my own.

I got to know Tracy during his time at EKU (Eastern Kentucky University). He walked with a bad limp but always had a big smile on his face. We lived on the same floor and partied together. He told me the story of Wonderland and I encouraged him to write a book about it. He started writing about it for his English class and it really freaked his professor out. Sorry to hear about his passing. Dude had some great stories.

Haven’t read the complete thread yet but I also remember Tracy saying that he was Charlie Manson’s cousin. This was during his time at EKU.
