The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa (Briefly, in Photographs)
Alright, let’s do this…
The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, in pictures.
Former Union President, Jimma Hoffa, disappeared on July 30, 1975 in Bloomfield Township in suburban Detroit, Michigan, USA. It is the hometown of Aretha Franklin.

It was a lot more rural and less suburban in 1975. The movie “Hoffa” had it correct.
Hoffa was hoping to meet a mob boss at 2pm at this restaurant. The guy was late, and Hoffa was seen impatiently pacing around the front entrance and parking lot.
Hoffa’s green Pontiac Grand Ville was parked nearby, and found by police the next day.
Not long after Hoffa had phoned home to check in with the wife, then this exact year and color of car pulled out of the restaurant parking lot, almost hitting a delivery truck. It is a 1975 Mercury Marquis Brougham, in beautiful maroon:
The truck driver recognized Hoffa sitting in the backseat and noticed a gray blanket covering something between he and the other man. Maybe it was a shotgun.
