Nash’s Son Murdered By Hell’s Angel in 1984
On September 6 or 7, 1984, a personal tragedy struck Eddie Nash. A former friend of his, Maureen Bautista and her son Telesforo were brutally murdered by stabbing. Hells Angels biker Robert Frederick Garceau was convicted of this murder and sentenced to death. Newspaper accounts of the crime mentioned that Telesforo was actually a son of Mr. Nash.
Garceau was turned in to the police after he murdered Greg Rambo, who had helped him dispose of the bodies of the Bautistas. Rambo’s wife had knowledge of the Bautista murders and talked to the police (under an agreement of immunity). Garceau was convicted of all three murders.
At trial, evidence was presented that Garceau murdered Ms. Bautista because she threatened to expose Garceau’s drug operations to Mr. Nash. Her son was murdered because he was a witness to her murder. A lengthy court appeal was launched to vacate Garceau’s death penalty, but in 1993 the California Supreme Court upheld the legality of what became known as “The Nash testimony”. Garceau died in prison of natural causes in 2005.

NOVATO, Calif. (AP) – A Kern County man who has spent more than 17 years on death row for killing his girlfriend and her 14-year-old son died Wednesday of complications from cancer, prison officials said.
Hells Angel motorcyclist Robert Garceau was convicted for the 1984 stabbing deaths of girlfriend Maureen Bautista and her son, Telesforo Bautista, both of North Hollywood.
According to trial testimony, Garceau buried the bodies in cement in the backyard of a fellow drug dealer’s house in San Luis Obispo County and claimed that his drug-dealing friends, not him, killed the two. He killed them in Bakersfield, according to records.
Garceau was subsequently sent to death row at San Quentin State Prison outside San Francisco in 1987. He was also serving a sentence of 33-years-to-life for the killing of a fellow drug dealer.

Interesting. I wonder if Garceau knew David Lind. It’s weird to read that he killed her because she threatened to expose him to Nash. Was he worried that Nash would try to compete/take over his business? Strange.

Sorry, I should have elaborated on that. I am thinking that if she knew Nash, then knowing a Hell’s Angel was not too far a stretch either…
Court case:
http://law.justia.com/cases/california/cal4th/6/140.html
The prosecution’s case rested largely on evidence that defendant had, on numerous occasions, confessed his participation in the crimes to acquaintances with whom he had been involved in the manufacture of methamphetamine. According to the prosecution, defendant killed Maureen Bautista because he feared she would “snitch him off” regarding his involvement in methamphetamine manufacturing, and killed her son, Telesforo, because Telesforo had witnessed defendant’s lethal attack on his mother. In support of its case, the prosecution presented numerous witnesses who testified to defendant’s intense hatred of “snitches” (persons who report illegal activities to third persons) and to defendant’s frequent comments, both before and after the Bautista murders, to the effect that “snitches die.”

Two questions; How is Mr. Nash these days and why didn’t Mr. Nash take John Holmes for a nice long drive in the desert?
