The Drive From Wonderland To Eddie’s In HD!
Thanks to Bonnie for sharing.
Let’s take a drive today from Wonderland Avenue to Dona Lola Place (Eddie’s house). Over 30 years ago at 8am on June 29th, which is tomorrow morning (PST), the Gang made this exact same drive. As you know… in 1981, June 29 was a Monday.
The video is also in HD!
At the :15 second mark, you can see the Wonderland house immediately to the left, light colored with 2 cars in the garage. One of the cars is a black Jeep Cherokee I think. After turning onto Dona Peguita from Laurel Canyon Blvd. at the 5:30 mark, that is where the gang saw Holmes coming down the slight hill.
“Go Get Him!!” (fist raised out of car window)

ha nice! I was actually thinking of doing this drive sometime this weekend to commemorate the anniversary. BTW If you keep going up past the Wonderland house (in the opposite direction of this drive) you are rewarded with one of the best views of LA spread below you..

How many times did Billy and Joy hold hands and walk that way in the early evening as the sun went down….?

Thank you John for all the miscellaneous info. I was wondering where he said “get em” at. Now I know.

Such a beautiful area, thanks for shooting this Bonnie. If you were to play it in reverse and darkened the image you’d have the drive from the killer’s rearview mirror p.o.v… kinda.. ;p

That is a great idea. But I am gonna try to shoot the reverse trip tomorrow – I did both – other one did not turn out so hot so I gotta reshoot. It’s coming I promise – and a trip from wonderland to the market.

Oh wow, that’ll be great.. Looking forward to it! It’d be really cool if you were a bit naughty and edged your car into Eddie’s driveway as we’ve never really gotten a close up shot of the front of his house 😉 No pressure of course!.. I’m sure it will be a great video regardless! Cheers Bonnie.

I would so love to hang out with Bonnie! If I ever do get out there, I’m going to hire her as my personal driver and tour guide!

@Bobby – I got as close as I could without intruding on the current owners.
@Dream – Come visit. You will be in for a whirlwind of a tour. Did you happen to read the book Wonderland Avenue? It’s amazing. Referencing things from that book is what got me fascinated with the Wonderland stuff. If you did – I know most of the locations from that book like the Doors office – and Pam and Jims apartment.

Looks like Bonnie just took the cool factor to another level, dosen’t get much better than this! I would say the gang was getting ready to leave Eddie’s place right about now.

Yes! And they divee’d the loot awhile ago… and Tracy took his cab home to Lemp Ave in N. Hollywood an hour later!

I while back I posted this video and asked if anyone knew who’s portrait was in Ron’s room (0:13) Well, I finally found out. Looks like Ron was a fan of ballet because the guy in the picture is Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Still difficult for me to watch these videos. I’m sure it never gets any easier this time of the year for the victims family members, tonight and tomorrow will be hard for them.

On the second page there is an advert for 6 tube socks for $2.97. Billy would have had a field day with that low price!!
