A Chance Encounter With Good Time Charlie
This is an interesting tale, and so today I have to go a bit off topic and share it with you. A young man in the late 60s has a chance meeting with Charles Manson. And well, you’ll have to read his account for yourself.
Freaky lil dude is right!

When the news broke about the arrest of Charles Manson and his ‘Family’, the media coverage reminded me of the Kennedy Assassination. Then it was disclosed that Manson and his ‘hippie commune of killers’ were living at Spahn’s Movie Ranch in the Santa Susanna Mountains. At first I thought:
That’s where that little freaky guy wanted to take me. Hey, wait a minute, that demonic murdering cult leader looks a lot like that freaky little dude.

Coincidentally the latest episode of the excellent show “Paranormal Witness” is about Manson. A guy builds a dream home on Cielo Drive, only a few houses down from the infamous scene of the murders, and all hell breaks loose in the form of, you guessed it, hauntings! The interesting thing about this particular case is that the paranormal activity was documented on videotape, just like those dodgy films that have been making the big bucks. Anyway if you’re into this sorta stuff you can check out sneak peeks/cilps of the episode here:

I think you may be able to watch the full episode here too but it’s region locked in my neck of the woods so I can’t 100% vouch for it:

Thanks Bobby, I will check out the links. I had planned to watch it but got sidetracked. Excellent. Bonnie is visiting the Villisca axe murder house in Iowa and maybe she will share some pics when gets back. She posted one video, just go to her account which have the driving tour vids. Cheers–

Villisca case is so tragic and frustratingly still unsolved after all this time! I was recently re-reading Mike Sager’s excellent 1989 piece “The Devil and John Holmes” and really like the way he ended it:
“You know,” says Detective Lange, “there’s no mystery here. Every time you read something, they say it’s a big mystery. Or the local TV says it’s a big mystery. Or that show out of New York, you know, A Current Affair. Big mystery. Like aliens or something. There’s no mystery. John Holmes didn’t go to his grave with anything but a very bad case of AIDS. He told us everything initially, right after it happened.”
“But it’s one thing to tell someone something,” says Lange. “It’s another thing to testify to it in court.”
