Thanks guys! Hahahahahha that’s so funny! U know what I always wonder is who in the hell opened the door. Or did they just break in. I know the gate was left opened. But who let them in? In the movie billy did but billy was up in his room so it wasn’t him.
I never realized they steps also led to the house next door, guess I didn’t pay close attention. I wonder who opened the door too, I’ve read that it was Barbara, but I thought she was asleep when struck, or so it seemed. Hmmm…another unsolved mystery!
Considering it’s a shared stairwell it’s pretty understandable how the movers the day after the murders would’ve had a pretty clear line of sight into the house, not to mention hearing Susan’s moaning. The issues raised on this thread re: the dogs baffles me too. How did they not attack Diles and co.??

Bobby I always wondered about the dogs too. It’s too bad John had not left Thor there that night. Thor would have beat down the attackers, he was one bad ass dog.

If I ever win the lottery I’d like to buy 8763 and restore it to its pristine appearance in 1981. I’d then set it up as sort of a bed and breakfast. You could stay there with 3 other friends for a night. Captain Pizza would cater the food in, and there would be plenty of Johnny Wadd porno tapes to throw in the Betamax. Included in the price would be a picture of your group hanging out on the balcony. It would be one heck of a great time.
Looking at the crime photos last night, one thing that struck me is….it looks to me like Joy is laying sideways across the bed, not “in” bed but rather like she’d been up and was killed in the struggle? Anyone know, was she wearing nightclothes, or a robe? It just kind of looks like she’d been out of bed and fell the way she was found, then they ransacked the place and threw all the crap on top of her. Then Deverell was obviously out of bed and on the floor and I remember reading he had defensive wounds as if fighting back. Wondering if perhaps they heard the commotion from below and were up when the killers struck.
Then there are the dogs, that really confuses me. Am I correct that there were 2 pitbulls or something guarding the place? I think the thought is that they “knew” John so they didn’t cause a ruckus and allowed them to enter. I don’t get that. I have 2 German Shepherds and they “know” many of my friends, but if any of those friends came to my place at night, in the dark, they’d take their heads off! So this does have me wondering if someone from within the house called the dogs off or something. Ugh, wish we knew more! Damn u John Holmes for not spilling all your guts!
Yes it seemed like joy and billy were awake and possibly knew something was going on on the first floor. If u watch the crime scene video there is hammers and tools laying on the bed as if maybe they tried to use that for protection. But I’m sure that house was probably loaded with guns so who knows. Unresolved mystery! It sucks!!!!!!!!!
Joy was wearing a gold nightgown and green and white striped robe. Her cranial wounds are nearly all on the shattered forehead. She and Billy fought for their lives.
If you are somewhat new to the blog then be sure to flip thru each post when convenient (bottom of page — “Older Posts”. There are over 300 blog posts. A
lot of stuff here. Use the Search button too but be specific and you will get better results i.e, “Joy’s nightgown” or “Ron’s first wife”.
My friend said I should just print the blog out, post by post, organize it, and that would be a book! He may be correct.
That’s a great idea!! You definately have enough material here for a great book, would love to see Tom Lang’s book published too. Put the screws to Nash even tighter, the dirty old fart!
Yep I’ve been reading back into the blog when I can, not sure why I find this so fascinating, maybe the unsolved mystery part of it. Seriously need to watch Wonderland again, wish it was on Netflix!
Ok this really sucks! I just did a search yesterday on my dvr for Wonderland and got a zero result. I turn the tv on this afternoon to put a show on for my kids and what do I see??? Freakin’ Wonderland!! Sooooo ticked! Hoping they re-run it, it was already half over and I can’t exactly watch it w/ my kids around. It’s on some channel called AXL or something?? Anyway, seriously bummed! 😦

Without going into a lot of detail as to why, the consensus is Deverell.
