Hey John, are you familiar with the author Peter Sotos? He was also in the seminal British noise group Whitehouse for quite some time and his audio collages on those records are creepy as fuck. Anyway I’ve only read a couple of his books, “Tick” and “Index”, which were both excellent but just noticed on his Wikipedia entry that his 2007 book “Show Adult” covers the Wonderland murders. Thought this would be of interest to you for your book. How’s it all coming along anyway?Take care, Bobby Peter Sotos – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hey John, this reply is not to the Bugliosi death (which is too bad, he did a great job putting the Manson Crew away).
I just wanted to post that I just learned that Bill Amerson passed away back in March, from a stroke at the age of 76 I was always hoping you’d get a chance to interview him and get some of the untold story.
RIP Bill Amerson. 😦
Jim 9:41 am on June 25, 2015 Permalink |
From what I’ve read Amerson was a wealth of knowledge when it came to information about Holmes.
However, like anyone else, any story he told between him and Holmes would always have him (Amerson) cast in the best light.

I can’t imagine Bill Amerson knew much about the killings other than what Holmes told him which was the same bullshit he feed everybody. Mitchell Egers would be a great interview and more fact based. A missed opportunity to interview Amerson is not entirely a good thing but at the same time what could the man possibly know about the murders…it would seen like a waste of time and resources.

Well Bill might not have had any direct info re: the murders, but he could have provided some solid inside scoop on Johnny Wadd during the immediate post-Wonderland days and weeks.

Thanks localarts. I have Egers on my list also. It’s too bad Earl Hanson died, RIP. They were a great team. As Earl was the mouthpiece and a very persuasive and confident counselor, Mitchell was the legal scholar, much like Ron Coen, could quote case law off the top of his head. I read that in Earl’s obit. What a team.

One item to remember is right after Holmes got out of jail after serving 11 months for the murder trial and contempt of court he immediately went to live with Amerson. It seems that after 11 months in prison a person might want to unburden themselves, etc. and Amerson would have been a captive audience.
Obviously there’s a good chance Holmes didn’t share anything truthful with him but it would have been an interesting interview if nothing else.

Yes, it would be an interesting interview but I’m not sure how relevant it would to the slayings.
Jim 11:02 am on June 30, 2015 Permalink |
Anniversary of Wonderland slayings is tonight / early tomorrow morning (July 1). Few people are still left to provide any insightful information from that time.

Indeed it is. I believe Hovsep Mikaelian is still alive. It’s strongly believed he was one of the killier’s that night and it was Mikaelian who told an investigator that it was Billy Deverell who opened the door. Hovsep Mikaelian a.k.a Joe Mikaelian may still be in prison. John might know.
John 12:16 pm on October 10, 2015 Permalink |
They are both out of prison. I found Hovsep’s house on Google Earth via background check and he had three or four “mob” looking cars in his driveway (Lincoln Town Cars, all black). Hovsep is a character, I think he served about a decade in federal prison. I am scared to track down these guys and then end up On The Case with Paula Zahn, as my family searches for my remains, LOL.
Jim 12:26 pm on July 1, 2015 Permalink |
Mikaelian would be a great interview. Of course no one would talk without a deal and as I said previously almost everyone is dead. It looks like we’ve probably uncovered all we’re going to about that night.
localarts 7:44 pm on July 1, 2015 Permalink |
Jim, you’re probably right. I don’t foresee a death bed confession along with all the details from Nash. Holmes, near the end of his life could have made peace and given the victims family members a measure of closure. If John Holmes would have cooperated, this case would have been put to rest in the 80’s..

Johnny was a stand up guy. Even on his death bed, he kept his mouth shut.

John it has been a while since I have seen any posts or updates on your book? How are things coming? Any progress? Just a quick FYI I am also doing research in hopes of either filming and producing a documentary or also writing a book. In the past few months I was able to obtain some information and find some good articles that have been difficult to find. One being the article by Sue Goldsmith “Gunning for Eddie”. Great article w/ some very valuable information. There are some pictures in the article that I have never seen before. A good picture of Eddie after his face lift, it is a still from an interview he did for Channel 4 in LA. There has to be a way to get a copy of that interview? There was information in the article about Hal Glickman I never heard previously. Hal was at odds w/ Eddie prior to passing away and apparently Hal’s wife Dottie had an affair w/ Eddie during her days as an addict. Dottie was quite the coke hound and Eddie used that to his advantage but it did not endear him to his old friend Hal G. Eddie as of this article was dating a lady named Estee who took his last name but they were not married. In the article Hal Glickman also tends to berate Eddie as evil and mentions Eddie was so enraptured w/ John Holmes and his enormous appendage that he himself had a penile implant at the same time had a face lift. Eddie is still out there but living well and has more than enough money for his grandchildren to never have to work. I also have information Paul Kelly has passed away and was homeless toward the end of his life. Apparently he would occasionally hang out at Hal Glickman’s bail bond studio but he hit hard times at the end. I would like to collaborate more w/ you John if you would like. Feel free to contact me and I will send you the article by Goldsmith. I am interested in sharing info w/ you for our respective projects. Please send me an email. I believe you have my info? Thank you for the hard work and all the posting. I am very excited to see your research and book. Hope you are making progress.

I tend to agree with Kevin Deverell’s opinion Holmes.

Any word on whether there will be another book? I know its been talked about on this blog but I’ve heard nothing for months.

Wonderland has a lot of moving parts..I’m sure any book written that focused on accuracy & the truth is going to take a great deal of time.

This used to be one of my favorite blogs..I found myself multiple times a week researching and reading every post going back to the very begin of its creation…But now I check maybe every two weeks or so and there is never anything new…6-10 months for new posts and the recent ones havent had much to do with the people involved in the wonderland ordeal…I do realize that you have a life to live and that there is also only so much information that this one case can give you to blog about but between the lives of Ron Lanius, David Lind, Eddie Nash and the rest of the wonderland crew and the people who dealt with them and or were around them there has to be so much more information and so much more to be written about and learned about. I do understand you are writing a book (or at least thats what I believed) and maybe that is why you stopped posting to use your information that you have for your book, wich is fine. But I have to ask if you dont intend to post on here anymore would you mind allowing someone else to control this blog and do there own investigative blogging or to start there own Wonderland Murder Blog.? And please by no means dont take this offensive I think you did a great job with this site, You came up with great information, great stories, awesome interviews and you showed it from so many angles and I would absolutely purchase your book if your writing one as soon as it was available but basically all that Im getting to is that I find myself very intrigued by the entire wonderland saga and I think there is so much more information out there to be shared and like I said at one time this was my favorite site that I was on daily and Im just saddened by the fact that not much posting is happening anymore… I would love nothing more for you to go on a crazed posting spree of any and all new information you have and I also enjoy reading the comments others have who are also interested in this perticular subject about all things wonderland. So basically all im asking is can we get back to making this site what it was some years back? Thank you for your work in the past and I really do hope to see more from this site in the future…And like I said no disrespect to you in anyway I know you have a life to live and this is not your only priority and I wish you all the best with your book and everything in your future…..Take care and God bless……………….. From a person who misses what this site used to be.. Thanks

I read somewhere one of John’s parents are very sick.
Us all try to cut John just a little bit of slack due to illness in his family..
I totally understand, I am going through about the same problem my Mother who had a very sudden onset of Alzheimer’s.
Trying care for a elderly parent by myself without no help what so ever from any other family member’s. It take’s up a very lot of any spare time you may have.
To myself John was always the go to guy for great knowledge & insight on this case. His knowledge of this case amazed myself @ times.
Prayers with you John.

It looks like John’s back on board. He seems to manage to find new and interesting information relating to the Wonderland murders to blog about. I like when he occasionally goes off topic, everything he covers is so fascinating. No one could ever replace him on this blog, he’s phenomenal. He probably needed some time off for personal matters.
