    Rolling Stone & Eagles – Take 2!

    June 15, 1978:

I learned that the guys at Rolling Stone tried to kidnap Glenn Frey’s cat, only to walk away with scratches. And losing 15 to 8 isn’t that bad in beer league softball. As a veteran of such pot-bellied wars, I have watched games go 30 to zip or 48 to 2 = close games are rare.

    Eagles vs. Rolling Stone Magazine

In 1978, the Eagles got tired of the lame reviews about how they “loitered on-stage” and so they challenged the nerds at Rolling Stone to a softball match. The Eagles line-up was filled out with fat roadies and Peter Cetera of Chicago (who looks pretty beefy here, but I always pictured him as a skinny hippie). The Eagles won the game, who’d a guessed that?  A bunch of former jocks taking on some skinny critics like Fong-Torres or whatever his name is.

Didn’t they just get busted for a fake college rape story journalism is obsolete these days

Yes, Jimmy. It was part of the campaign of third-wave feminism to convince America there was a rape epidemic on campus. One now needs written consent to wink at a girl at the skating rink. And clapping hands is traumatic to some, so they do finger-clicking or jazz hands so as not to offend the sensitive to clapping crowd.

Myself I was scared but he was OK, I made him laugh a lot. I guess he know I was nervous . I even try pay for my meal he got a kick out of that. He was just a ole country boy me.
